Become a Mental Health First Aider

Adult Mental Health First Aid - Online Course

The Online Mental Health First Aid course has been adapted from the Adult Two Day Mental Health First Aid classroom course. The Online Mental Health First Aid course is interactive and is delivered through slides, video clips, activities, discussions and case studies, which you will explore through a series of live sessions. 

The live sessions are led by me an approved MHFA England instructor member. You will be joined by up to
12 other participants who will be completing the course with you. Everyone who completes this course gets a certificate from MHFA England to say they are a Mental Health First Aider and access to the new MHFAider Support App for three years after completing the course.

 

The Online course structure is the same as the Two Day course.  

Cost: £325pp or £2600 for up to 12 persons

  • Beginning a conversation with someone about their mental health

  • Looking after your own mental health

The Adult Mental Health Aware Half Day course offers an introduction to mental health and mental health issues. It is an awareness course intended to introduce mental health to the general public.


The aim of Adult Mental Health Aware Half Day is to enable you to increase your knowledge in:


       

Cost: £125pp, (online £100) or £1200 (online £900) inhouse for up to 25 people or 12 max online.

Adult Mental Health Aware - Half Day Course

Course dates: 

Everyone who attends an Adult MHFA One Day course will learn to:

  • Recognise the main signs and symptoms of mental ill health.

  • Provide initial help.

  • Guide the person towards appropriate professional help.

  • Develop an understanding of how they can create and maintain a healthier and more productive workforce.

  • Be mindful of their own wellbeing.

Anxiety disorders.

Other mental health issues (eating disorders, self-harm, and psychosis).

Early warning signs of mental ill-health.

Applying the Mental Health First Aid action plan

Action 1: Approach the person, assess and assist with any crisis.
 

Suicide.

Action 2: Listen and communicate non-judgementally.
 

Action 3: Give support and information.
 

Action 4: Encourage the person to get appropriate professional help.
 

Action 5: Encourage other supports.
 

Recovery.

Building a mentally healthy workforce.

Action planning for using MHFA.

Cost: £200pp, £2000 in house for up to 16 participants.

Adult Mental Health First Aid - One Day Course

Everyone who attends an Adult Mental Health First Aid course will learn to:

  • Spot the early signs of a mental health issue.

  • Feel confident in how to offer and provide initial help to a person experiencing a mental health issue.

  • Preserve life where a person may be at risk of harm to themselves or others.

  • Help stop mental ill health from getting worse.

  • Promote recovery of good mental health.

  • Guide someone towards appropriate treatment and other sources of help.

  • Understand the stigma that exists around mental health.

  • (Both the online and two day course, cover the same content over 4 sessions).
